Digital Painting Preview - March 12, 2019

H!

I'm headed to a doctor to see about a lovely infection that developed over the weekend.

In case they put me in the ER—I wanted to share an image I've been working on.

It's far from finished but it's been fun to work it all out—and hopefully I can finish it soon.

I call it, "Keep It Down," and it shows a little country church with people praising God (visible in the door and window)—and underneath it all a devil hitting his ceiling/floor of the church with his pitch-fork.

I'm still altering and finalizing the church—and will probably make the window to the right much larger so I can show more people—and will paint an appropriate fire and brimstone background for the 'accuser of the brethren' underneath it.

I'll probably be changing the scale of the annoyed baddy in relation to the church to  as well—right now he looks YUGE in comparison to the congregants.  Although art historians call that hierarchical proportion to emphasize important aspects of a painting.

OTOH—the Bible calls Satan a defeated foe—so I'll still have to work out how large or small to make him.

Anyway—wanted you to see this in case I'm out of commission for a while.

Now—I'm off to see the Doc.  See update under image *

God Bless you all!

UPDATE:  So the Doctor gave me an antibiotic to take for the next 10 days—and I have an appointment scheduled with a surgeon next week—but if things don't improve my Doc said go to the ER for emergency surgery.

Life is fun sometimes.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  1. Hi Jephyr,
beautiful artwork as usual. Have a guess what came into my mind as soon as I saw it?
'High in the sky, and Pie in the sky'
When we have FAITH we are 'High in the sky' as in being in the presence of the Lord, and Satan is 'Pie in the sky' as in being an 'illusion', something that is not really there. Hallelujah, and may the Lord increase our faith and heal us from all our diseases, as stated in Psalm 103 v.3 AMEN.
    God bless you Jephyr.

    1. Hi Brenda, Thank you very much—I've been having so much fun creating images lately. : )

It IS great to remain in the presence of our Lord—and under His protection.

Ephesians 6:11-12 tells us: Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:13-18 describes our armor)

Thankfully it also tells us that God put everything in subjection to Christ and that Satan will be crushed by our feet. I'm so looking forward to that day!

Until then, we must remain aware that while on this earth we are in a battle and that "Satan goes about like a roaring lion seeking who he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8

I just watched a video about a group that has its members swear an oath to infiltrate churches to sow discord and create confusion and disorder, and to even work their way into the pulpit and murder if necessary. This has made me interested in seeking the gift of “discerning spirits.”

Anyway, that’s a little insight into what I intend this image to represent.

Thanks as always for being such an encouragement to me.

God Bless you and all you love!

    1. Absolutely!! :) The GREAT Physician—Jesus the living Savior!

BTW—I prayed and asked God to give me wisdom about going to see the Doctor. Everything went so smoothly that I see His hand in what happened. I met with a new Doctor because my regular one wasn't available and I really like this other one enough I may switch permanently to him. The antibiotic is working really well and in just three days the infection has been reduced a LOT. Thank you Father!!

I admire your decision to seek God only for your healing. I feel for me that God opened all the doors to seek medical advice and help. He works in wonderful and mysterious ways. I do love Him!
